Treatment of human papillomavirus infection in HIV-infected patients

The first reports about HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) were appeared to the 1980s. By 2017 more than 37 million people living with HIV. Human papilloma virus (HPV) is universally spread, some estimates showing that 1% of sexually active population having genital warts. (HPV)-induced infection frequently accompanies clinical course and can manifest itself in a full spectrum clinical-pathologic forms ranging from common warts malignant neoplasia. Due widespread use antiretroviral therapy, number patients combined (HIV+HPV) steadily increasing. Here we review current treatment options for HPV manifestations. High-dose therapy does not impede treatment, even improve its efficacy cases. topical administration imiquimod, an immune response modifier, effective conservative HIV-infected HPV. immunomodulation imiquimod serve as alternative aggressive chemical mechanical procedures. Maximum lowest replaces rates may be expected ablation methods subsequent follow up imiqui-mod. best therapeutic result HIV-positive who are received high-dose treatment. advantages Vartocid, modified Russian equivalent generic imiquimod.
